It's cool. The ancient German warriors invoked Odin in battle. They also appealed to Odin/ Woden to cure cases of sprains and dislocations of the body. In the Scandinavian countries (the North) Woden was called Odin. He was the god of WAR and INTELLIGENCE. He was handsome. He spoke with such ease and eloquence that all he said seemed true to those who heard him. He liked to express himself in verse, cadenced according to the rules laid down by the skalds. He had the power to change himself instantly into whatever shape he wished; he would in turn become a fish or a bull, a bird, a snake or a monster. He was the god of war only by being the god and master of the most powerful weapon, magic. Apart from physical power he also would in battle strike his enemies deaf, blind and impotent , when he approached them. It was Odin who ordained the laws which ruled human society. The Teutonic society. SOURCE: ( Tonne-lat:254) In: Graves, Robert (ed.) 1993. New Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythology. London: Hamlyn. *
